On Tuesday 14 June, the College hosted the annual Junior Concert in the beautiful setting of the College Chapel. Opening with a speech from Mr Heaney, the concert began with a trumpet Prelude, followed by a performance from the training orchestra, cello solo, guitar duets, choir performances, saxophone solo, Jazz Juniors performance and many more, it was a great success! Following the concert, there were refreshments in the new library below (and some fundraising from the Harmony North students!) A big thanks to all the students and staff for an excellent evening of music making and drama!
On Thursday 16 June 2016, a participation party was held in M2 for all those who contributed to the Junior Concert on Tuesday, two days previous. Mr McGrath arrived just before break with some beautiful cakes and buns, juice and "good craic" as one of the students described him. A big thank you to Miss Lowry and Mr McGrath for organising and running it. Fun was had by all who were there.
During the week of the 1st June, some students from years 8 and 9 had the experience of working alongside the Royal Shakespeare Company in their ‘Play for the Nation: A Midsummer Night’s Dream.’ Working in conjunction with The Lyric Theatre, the boys received first hand training in singing, acting and dancing from a host of industry professionals who visited from Stratford upon Avon. For six months the boys worked and practised tirelessly for the performance.
